Terms of Service

Effective date: [Insert launch date]
Last updated: April 29, 2026

These terms apply to your use of the ReadyCitizen mobile app and any related services. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.

1. What ReadyCitizen is

ReadyCitizen is a study and practice tool for the U.S. naturalization (citizenship) interview. It includes civics question study, reading and writing practice, and AI-assisted mock interviews.

ReadyCitizen is not a law firm. Nothing in the app is legal advice. We do not represent you before USCIS. If you need legal help with your N-400 application, hire a qualified immigration attorney.

2. Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password and account credentials secure
  • All activity that happens under your account
  • Providing accurate information

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Subscriptions and payments

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). Pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase.

  • Auto-renewing subscriptions renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
  • Lifetime access is a one-time purchase that grants Premium features for as long as ReadyCitizen exists.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies.

We may change prices for new purchases. Existing subscriptions continue at the price you paid until cancelled.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the app to harass, harm, or impersonate others
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the service
  • Resell or redistribute access to your account
  • Use the app to violate any law

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. AI mock interviews

The mock interview feature uses third-party AI (OpenAI's Whisper for transcription, GPT-4o-mini for grading). The AI:

  • May make mistakes in transcription or grading
  • Is not affiliated with USCIS
  • Should be used as practice, not as a guarantee of how a real officer will respond

Your mock interview results are not predictive of real interview outcomes.

6. Third-party services

We rely on third-party providers (Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Sentry, PostHog, Resend) to deliver the app. Their availability is outside our control. We are not responsible for outages or data loss caused by these providers.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

8. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes we will notify you in-app. Continued use after notification means you accept the updated terms.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by tapping Profile → "Delete my account" in the app, or by visiting readycitizen.app/delete-account. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your access ends and unused subscription time is governed by Apple's or Google's refund policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in Travis County, Texas.
